The club gathered for a magnificent celebration of the outstanding achievements of everyone on the evening of Friday 27th September, our Annual Presentation Evening.
We were joined by former athletes and coaches, Arnya (Club Athlete of the Year 2001), Nisha and Cori; head and deputy head of our partners at Wexham Court Primary School, Navroop and Ranvir; and Berkshire Athletics Chair David Noble, to relive the highlights of the year, reflect on moments of outstanding achievement, enjoy rewarding each and every athlete present for what they had achieved during the training year, working towards further improving their mastery of the key skills of running, jumping, and throwing.
There was a very poignant moment when Annabel, presenting the “Spirit of SJAC Awards” spoke wonderfully of the legacy left by James “Be present. Be brilliant. Be gone” inspiring each and every one of us to focus on the opportunity presented in the moment, to be at our best in that moment and to move forward, being at our best.
As well as recognising the outstanding achievements of individuals such as Eden, Indraneel, Lucy, Madisyn, and Trey on the tracks and fields around the county and country, and Gregory in Sportshall, every athlete received their award for the year.
We recognised the athlete of the year within each age and gender group. We rewarded those who have improved the most throughout the year. A wonderful evening ended with everyone (almost) hitting the dance floor.
