Age is taken on 31st August 2023. You must be 9 on the day of the competition to compete.

All matches will take place at Thames Valley Athletics Centre.

MORE ABOUT SPORTSHALL

 

Sportshall is an indoor form of track and field for children between the ages of 4 and 16.  It was created in 1976 to provide a safe and warm environment for young athletes to train during the cold and dark winter months. 

​

We have a great history in Sportshall. It’s a great opportunity to compete in a fun and exciting format. It’s a team competition - join your friends at the club and have a great afternoon putting into practice what you learn each week, running, jumping, and throwing against other clubs and schools from around the county.

​

It enables year round athletics for all and is a great way of introducing young athletes to the fun, excitement and challenges of team and individual competition in a friendly and developmental way.  

The Berkshire League (3 matches in October - January) and the County Championships allow our young athletes to maintain a focus throughout the winter, whilst also building the fun and competitive spirit vital for a young sportsperson’s development.

In Berkshire, league matches and County Championship performances of each athlete form the basis of selection for the Regional rounds of the Sportshall competitions leading to the UK National Championships.
